I’m absolutely delighted to hear the news that Tom and Carla Cuthbertson have been awarded MBE’s in the New Year Honours list. Tom and Carla’s son, Nathan, who was serving with 2 Para, was killed in Afghanistan back in 2008. Since then they have worked tirelessly to raise money for various charities, provide support for other affected families, and fund community projects in their native city of sunderland. As many of you will know, the BBA’s routes are in the North east of England and this story is close to our hearts. Not only were myself and @Shaun (BBA Team) members of the Parachute Regiment but we actually worked closely with Tom and Carla in the early years and helped to support their annual charity event, Cuthy’s 200, which has become a nationally recognised event. What Carla and Tom have achieved is second to none and the BBA is incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to make a small contribution to a huge effort. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/people/sunderlands-tom-and-carla-cuthbertson-awarded-mbes-new-years-honours-charity-work-honouring-son-nathans-memory-3081870
