There is such an outpouring of gratitude for the fundraising by Captain Sir Tom Moore but let us not forget the soldier and some other little known facts. Moore served in India, the Burma campaign during the Second World War, and later became an instructor in armoured warfare. He survived this war as well as surviving dengue fever and when he de-mobbed in 1946 he became a motorcyle racer. Aged 99 he raised 40 million pound for the NHS - what a man! Rest in Peace now Sir
